In the heart of Prykarpattia, in the picturesque Polyana valley near the village of Novyi Mizun (about 15 km from Vygoda), lies Dubovyi Kut Sheep Farm — a heartfelt family enterprise where modern farming meets ancient Boiko traditions.
Family Cheesemaking & Gastrotourism
Owner Oksana Luchkiv produces nine varieties of sheep cheese: from traditional budz, vurda, and brynza to aged hard cheeses such as “Mizunskyi” (a signature product crafted by her own recipe), as well as manchego and pecorino.
Cheeses are cooked in an open cauldron over fire, while hard varieties mature in a cool cellar — with “Mizunskyi” requiring especially long aging.
Guests are invited to enjoy tastings (cheese, honey, wine, herbal Carpathian tea) and cheesemaking workshops, where you not only learn the craft but also take home your own handmade cheese.
Rest with Soul
Visitors can stay in family cottages, experience camping, dine in a traditional kolyba, or explore the wine cellar and the on-site museum “Boiko House”. There are also gazebos, barbecue areas, a hot tub, an apiary, and a fishing pond (carp, grass carp, trout).
Accommodation is available for up to 26 guests, with full comfort: heating, solar-powered electricity, kitchen, Wi-Fi, cleaning, barbecue, and parking.
Nature lovers can enjoy hiking and cycling routes, fishing, berry and mushroom picking, or hikes to Shchavna Mountain and Robert’s Bunker.
The Power of Tradition
The farm is a thriving family business: Oksana and Vasyl Luchkiv, parents of three children, run the household together with their extended family — grandparents included — making family part of every detail.
The farm also houses a museum “Boiko House”, carefully relocated from a 1918 home, preserving ancestral artifacts and family memories.
