Within the framework of the project ‘Carpathian Forest Schools – Pilot Cooperation for Nature Conservation and Environmental Education’, supported by the Ivano-Frankivsk Tourism Association, an innovative open-air educational space for studying wildlife was built during 2020–2022 next to the hydrological nature monument Shyrkovets Bog. This space is equipped with pedestrian walkways and observation towers, allowing visitors to approach the natural monument more closely while ensuring the protection of the environment. Additionally, 15 informational panels have been installed, interpreting the local nature. The content of these panels appeals to the personal experiences and values of visitors, rather than just introducing them to the local natural features.
The project was implemented with co-financing from the EU under the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program for 2014-2020.
